Repertoire

Katie Van Kooten has been singing to international acclaim for over 20 years. Her repertoire includes Mozart, Puccini, Britten, Verdi, Strauss and Wagner. With a warm, lyric tone and uniquely beautiful interpretation of her roles throughout the soprano repertory, she continues to thrill audiences with her convincing stage presence and compelling performances.

Companies Katie has performed with include Houston Grand Opera, The Metropolitan Opera, The Royal Opera House; Covent Garden, San Francisco Symphony, Dallas Opera, Kansas City Lyric Opera Opera, Tucson Symphony, Seattle Opera, Phoenix Symphony, St. Louis Symphony, Eugene Symphony, Seattle Symphony, and more. 

Recent role debuts include Freia (Das Rheingold) with Seattle Opera, Mother Abbess (The Sound of Music) with Houston Grand Opera and Tosca (Tosca) with Opera Theatre St. Louis. Upcoming performances include Handel’s Messiah, Vaughan-Williams Dona Nobis, and Ariadne in Ariadne auf Naxos.
